Zwischen Mythos Und Geschichte: Sthetik, Medialit T Und Kulturspezifik Der Mittelalterkonjunktur
The study is concerned with aspects of the culture of memory in the role played by the Middle Ages in literature, drama and film. Its thematic point of reference is the myths surrounding King Arthur (MatiA]re de Bretagne) and Jeanne d’Arc. Wodianka answers the question of the way in which treatments of the Middle Ages are determined by internal medial, chronological or national structures and the extent to which in this a part is played by differing emphases on memory as myth or history. The main focus is on France and Italy, but account is also taken of the German and English-speaking worlds.
