This standalone half-day of skills-based training enables existing micro-employers to check that they employ people in the right way, and helps people who are thinking of employing staff for the first time to get to grips with the basics.   Aimed primarily at owners and managers from businesses with 10 or fewer staff (or none - yet!), we share valuable guidance and tools which form the key components of employing people.  Every delegate will be given checklists of ‘must dos’ to take away for future use.   At Clearlink HR, we believe that excellent skills in people management are essential to every business.  We know that micro-businesses often need to consider and deal with all aspects of employing and managing people.  The return on investment from this workshop is significant; delegates will be equipped with user-friendly advice and techniques that are ready-to-use the next day.     What's the format of the session?    We focus on: What’s an employer?! Getting to grips with the employer / employee relationship Checking your ‘set up’ as an employer: including insurance, essential pre-employment employment checks, and HMRC The nuts and bolts of employment: contracts, job descriptions and handling disputes What records to keep and tips on how to write these Avoiding headaches:  how to grow your workforce successfully   During the morning, delegates will think about and address real issues and return to their business with action plans - so the value of their attendance is evident straight away.   The whole session takes the form of an interactive small-group workshop, allowing delegates to learn in a ‘safe’ and confidential environment.  We provide a range of fun activities, interspersed with real-life case-studies, bite-size chunks of theory and snapshots of legislation - all of which show that what we deliver is grounded in fact. All of our presenters are CIPD qualified, and are experienced senior HR practitioners. What parking is available at The Heath Business & Technical Park? There is ample free visitor parking in the visitor car park, directly outside the Conference Centre. What are the access arrangements for the venue? Please report to the Conference Centre reception on arrival. All activities take place on the ground floor of the building. Do I need to let you know about dietary requirements? Lunch will be at The Heath Restaurant where a variety of home-made, hot and cold meals and snacks are available. Any dietary requirements can be catered for on the day. What's the refund policy? We will refund payments subject to an administration fee of £40 +VAT for all cancellations made more than two weeks in advance of the event. Registrations may be transferred as per below up to one week in advance of the event. Any cancellations less than one week in advance of the event, or non-attendance, will be charged at the full rate. Please contact us to discuss refunds if necessary. Is my registration transferrable? Yes, but only after discussing with us, to another suitable individual from within your own organisation, and no later than one week in advance of the event.
