Holy Cross Hospital Presents Its 2017 Spring Stroke Symposium
Presented by Holy Cross Hospital, the 2017 Spring Stroke Symposium will offer an educational and networking forum for attendees to hear from experts and learn more about stroke risks and treatments.

Holy Cross is accredited by the Florida Medical Association to provide continuing medical education for physicians and nurses. The 2017 Spring Stroke Symposium educational activity is approved for up to three category-one credits under the standards of the American Medical Association’s Physician’s Recognition Award program, and for three nursing contact hours by the Florida Board of Nursing.

The program is designed for physicians, medical residents, nurses, emergency medical service (EMS) providers and other stroke/neurology healthcare providers. Keynote speakers from the Holy Cross Medical Group include:

• Dr. Catalina Ionita, a neuro-intensivist, discussing stroke mimics and mimics of strokes;
• Dr. Frank Sorhage, a pulmonary intensivist and co-medical director of the Holy Cross Sleep Disorder Lab, who will explore sleep apnea and obesity as stroke risks;
• and Dr. Laszlo Miskolczi, a neuro-interventional radiologist who will examine aspiration thrombectomies.
