Join us for our Women in Leadership Summer Soiree hosted at Gowling WLG with stunning views overlooking the river thames and Tower Bridge.  As a continuation of our 2017 'I AM MOGUL' theme we bring you our last panel Q & A and networking event of the year focusing on Women who lead, excel and dominate their respective fields in the workplace and business.  Hear their personal stories of overcoming life's challenges, balancing motherhood and navigating their way to a fulfilled life and career.  A networking drinks reception will follow on the beautiful balcony at Gowling WLG.  Come & get inspired and connect with like-minded women in a welcoming and comfortable environment.  Hosted by Vanessa Sanyauke & Dean Quinton  Our Panel are:   TAMIE ADAYATamie, one of the top 100 businesswomen in Los Angeles, spends a lot of time in the UK – offering and sharing her tips for success. Tamie Adaya manages a multi-million dollar real estate portfolio, guides the work of an international charitable foundation, and owns an independent record label. She is CEO, President and Creative Director of Hotel Shangri-La at The Ocean, a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. Overlooking the Pacific since 1939, the hotel is a striking beacon of Art Deco Elegance, a chronicle of the golden era of Hollywood, and a quintessential nexus of culture. Its celebrity appeal throughout the ages has entertained A-listers such as Madonna, Tom Cruise, Diane Keaton, Gene Hackman, Bill Murray, Arnie Schwarzenegger to JFK Jnr, Bill Clinton, the Dalai Lama to Randy Newman. In 2008, she defied her rivals who said she would ultimately fail, when she raised million to restore her hotel. This was at the height of the banking collapse when America’s property market turned and the economy in freefall. Tamie turned the hotel into a total success story.  When she is in the USA, she beats the drums for the Brits in Hollywood by teaming up with Nigel Lythgoe OBE and former British Consulate Bob Peirce, co-founders of BritWeek in the USA. The annual event, now in its tenth year, is a celebration of the creative fusion between the UK and the USA, focusing on film, music, arts and fashion. Tamie Adaya regularly hosts a series of BritWeek events showcasing the crème de la crème of Britain’s talent including acclaimed fashion designer, Julien Macdonald OBE, Vogue model and entrepreneur Felicity Hayward, designer Kim West and film director, Phil Strongman. Music is also a huge part of Tamie’s life. She owns a record label and gave bands such as Skream, Benga, Resco and Casper their first stages in North America. VIOLA NCUBE With over 23 years experience in the Hotel & Tourism Industry, Viola’s career started in South Africa & Zimbabwe working as a secretary. She came to the UK to complete her Hospitality & Tourism degree in 1999. On arrival, to pay for fees, she took a role as a night receptionist and went to university during the day. On completing her studies 3 years later, Viola worked her way up the career ladder specializing in the luxury hotel brands, holding key roles such as Director of Sales & Marketing for InterContinental Hotels & Resorts (5000+ hotels) UK, Director of Sales with US based L.E. Hotels (400+hotels), Director of Sales with Accor Hotels (3200 hotels), and the prestigious Pineapple Hotels and Red Carnations Hotels groups. In 2011 Viola set-up Global Hospitality Services for a private investor, a luxury hotel sales & marketing representation company, where she held the position of Vice President. Within 4 years GHS had accumulated 367 hotels globally and employed 65 employees as a management firm. Through these roles, Viola has been privileged to live and open hotels in China, Hong Kong, Beirut, London, New York, India, and working with hotels in Chicago, Miami, Los Angeles, Paris, Amsterdam, Italy, Brazil and South Africa. In January 2017, Viola left her role as at the luxury brand InterContinental Hotels & Resorts and founded “The Black Book Consultant” a Sales & Marketing hotel representation firm with offices in Los Angeles. Viola also founded iROCK! UK in 2012, a social enterprise mentoring women into employment & business enterprise, www.irockuk.org Viola is single mum to 21-year- old Kanisha, who is in her 2nd year at university studying Business Start-Up & Management in London.  Viola has featured on the 2012 SA “The Power 100 List” (SA Chamber of Commerce/The South African) and won Female Entrepreneur of the year at the Zim Achievers Awards and Business Woman of the year in the 2013 Women for Africa awards. She was also awarded a Heroic Award for Mentoring 2013 for CNN Hero for Girl Child Network.  SOFIE AHMED Sofie started her jewellery brand Blanco Bay after having worked in the Property Management field for 5 years. Feeling dissatisfied within her day to day 9-5 then later losing her job, Sofie decided it was time to fulfil her dreams to work for herself and be her own boss. Starting the business from her bedroom, Blanco Bay has gone on to enjoy international success and has featured in leading UK magazine publications such as Vogue, Elle, Cosmopolitan, Glamour, GQ, Harpers Bazaar & Tatler. CLEMMIE TELFORD Clemmie is a Creative Director and has worked for over 10 years in top London ad agencies, including most recently, Grey London, where she worked on clients including The Sunday Times, M&S and Mcvities. In January, she took a new job as a Freelance Creative Strategist at Facebook and Instagram. Helping brands do better, more effective and engaging work across the platforms. She is a Mum to two boys, Bertie and Woody. She lives with them, her husband and their sausage dog Derek, in Peckham South East London. Her jobs have enabled Clemmie to bring her ‘other life’ into work. Clemmie is a InstaMum/Mum Blogger. Through her blog; ‘Mother of All Lists’ she aims to give a honest account of being a 21st century woman. ALEX BRODIEAlex is an Equity Partner at international law firm Gowling (UK) LLP. She is based in London and is both an Intellectual Property litigation specialist with over 20 years' experience and global co-chair of the firm's Tech sector.
