Mima mounds form when glacial ice sheets melt rapidly and refreeze at the surface. This creates honeycomb ice with pits that must then fill up with sediment, melt, and leave piles where the pits in the ice were. Not rare but rarely persistent it a forest area. They persist here due to the grass. Cool to see though. My geology prof said they were like basketball skin lol.

Bloody hell this is annoying!! Every one of these MLN subscriber channels all have the same ridiculous format of sound effects and off-the-shelf, condescending voice actor presence that you – and the people who enjoy it – irk the shit out of me! You are cheezy a.f.

On the sailing stones in Death Valley, California, the cause of the movement is when water freezes in the winter. Then a strong wind will blow up and move the ice. The water is very shallow. The stones that stick up into or through the ice get dragged along as the ice is driven by the wind. Ice movement because of wind is common. In this case the shallow water with rocks that have rolled onto the plain produce an interesting trick of nature.

The information in this video is interesting, but I don't like the visual effects where the picture rotates. It makes me dizzy and takes away from the actual purpose of the video.
